I came to New York from Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1998 for an internship at NBC's Today Show. The TV career didn't last; the city did. Six years in marketing and communications at JPMorgan followed, then seventeen in brokerage. Television taught me how a shot is built and how fast a great one has to come together. JPMorgan taught me that images serve a marketing function — a tool, not an ornament. Brokerage taught me what a listing actually needs to move. Along the way, I started shooting my own listings — first because I had to, then because I wanted to. Mecum Media is where all of it comes together.
Because I shoot as a broker, I shoot with a broker's eye. The considered detail — a vintage mirror, a signature bodega on the corner, a tight bathroom that calls for a handheld approach — I know what belongs in the story of a listing, and I capture it.
